What a Villa Pizzo Wedding Costs and Why There Is No Price List
A Villa Pizzo wedding cost is built from four lines rather than one fee: exclusive hire of the villa for the day, an outside caterer priced per guest, rentals such as a marquee in the court, and hotel rooms for your guests in Cernobbio. Villa Pizzo publishes no rates, so as a working assumption for a full evening wedding of about 100 guests, plan on a venue fee in the event only band that planners publish for Lake Como villas, plus roughly 200 to 400 EUR per guest for food and drink before VAT.
We looked for a published figure on planner pages, venue directories and wedding listings as of November 2026 and found none. Every source we read either leaves the price out or asks you to request a quote for your date and guest count. That is normal for a private historic villa on the Cernobbio shore, a short drive from the centre of Como, and it means the number you receive depends on the season, the hours and the spaces you take.
Konstantyn Zakhariy and Mariya Gritsak photograph weddings around Cernobbio, and the questions couples ask us about this villa are almost always about money and logistics, not light. This article stays on the budget. For the gardens, the dock and how the day photographs, read our Villa Pizzo wedding photography guide. For how this villa sits among the others on the lake, see what Lake Como wedding venues cost.
All ranges below are typical planning figures with their source named, not quotes from the villa. Use them to set a first budget, then replace each line with written offers.
Exclusive Hire, Catering and Rentals: The Main Budget Lines
Exclusive hire for the day. What you rent at Villa Pizzo is the event spaces, not rooms. Exclusive Italy Weddings describes four connected halls facing the lake, the Italian Garden for the cocktail hour, the court with its double stone staircase for dinner, and three ceremony spots: the Orangerie Garden, the Garden of the Eye and the Darsena, a two level stone terrace on the water. Because there is no accommodation on site, the villa belongs in the event only category, not the full buyout category where villas such as Balbiano reach six figures with rooms included.
For that category, WeddingItaly's 2026 cost guide gives event only rentals at Lake Como between 15,000 and 60,000 EUR, and Weddings Abroad Guide's 2026 edition puts daily villa hire anywhere from about 5,000 EUR to over 100,000 EUR depending on exclusivity and prestige. We would not place Villa Pizzo at a single point in that range without a quote. Ask what the hire covers in hours, setup time the day before, and whether tables and chairs are part of it, because those three answers change the comparison more than the headline fee.
Catering from an outside company. The villa does not run its own kitchen for weddings. According to Exclusive Italy Weddings and Wezoree, well known Italian caterers work inside the villa, and a planner usually collects and compares their proposals. WeddingItaly gives Lake Como catering at 150 to 300 EUR or more per guest depending on menu and service, and Weddings Abroad Guide suggests a further 50 to 100 EUR or more per guest for drinks. Ask each caterer whether staff, kitchen equipment and the maître are inside the per person price, since an outside caterer brings everything to the villa.
Rentals and the marquee. Exclusive Italy Weddings mentions a marquee in the court for up to 150 guests, which is a rental line of its own and often the largest one after catering. WeddingItaly notes that high end rental and decor setups often run 200 EUR or more per guest. Lighting for the court, lounge furniture for the halls and an open bar setup with tall tables all sit here.
Boat arrivals. One planner listing describes a private dock leading into the garden and a boathouse with a terrace, so guests or the couple can arrive from the water. Boat transfers are hired separately, usually from Como or from your hotel's pier, so price them as their own line.
Season, Guest Count and Rooms: What Moves the Total
Season. Exclusive Italy Weddings states that the villa has no heating indoors and suggests weddings from April to October, and Wezoree gives the same months. That window shapes cost in two ways. The marquee becomes your insurance for rain or a cool evening in April and October, and the summer months are when hotels in Cernobbio price rooms at their highest.
Guest count. Capacity figures differ by source and by setup. Exclusive Italy Weddings gives up to 150 guests for a banquet with the marquee in the court and 120 guests indoors across the four halls, with the Muggiasca hall seating up to 60 for dinner. Other planner listings give 200 guests. Treat 150 as a comfortable seated dinner and confirm anything above it directly. Because catering and rentals scale per guest, every ten guests at around 300 EUR each for food and drink add about 3,000 EUR before VAT, while the hire fee stays where it is. Our guide to Lake Como wedding cost by guest count shows how this plays out at 40, 80 and 120 guests.
Music and the end of the night. Exclusive Italy Weddings and Wezoree both say amplified music is allowed outdoors until 11 pm, after which the party can continue inside the villa by agreement. One planner listing gives 4 am as the latest finish. Moving the band or DJ indoors at 11 pm is a timeline decision with costs attached: a second setup, staff hours past midnight and later transport back to the hotels. Ask the caterer and the music team for their overtime rates in writing.
Rooms. There is no accommodation at the villa, and Exclusive Italy Weddings notes that the most exclusive hotels are within a ten minute drive. Villa d'Este sits on the same Via Regina in Cernobbio and, according to the Michelin Guide, opens from March to November, which lines up with the villa's season. Most couples treat guest rooms as the guests' own cost and budget only for their own suite, the families and evening transfers. Our post on weddings in Cernobbio covers the town itself.
A simple middle case for 100 guests, using the planner figures above: 250 EUR for dinner and 75 EUR for drinks per guest gives 32,500 EUR, and rentals at a lighter 100 EUR per guest add 10,000 EUR, all before VAT and before the hire fee. That is a reasoned starting point to test against real offers, not a price.
Planning a Villa Pizzo Budget With Photography in Mind
Villa Pizzo spreads a wedding across several places: getting ready in the bridal suite on the second floor, a ceremony at the Darsena or in one of the gardens, the cocktail hour in the Italian Garden, dinner in the court and dancing in the halls. Each move is a short walk, but guests and family groups scatter along the lakefront and the garden paths. Two photographers let one stay with you while the other follows guests, the dock and the details, and that is how we work at every wedding.
The 11 pm limit for outdoor music is worth building into your coverage. If the first dance and toasts happen in the court, plan them early enough that the move indoors does not cut the evening in half. When you compare photography quotes, check that coverage runs through the move to the halls, not only to the cake.
A boat arrival at the dock is one of the moments couples remember from this villa, and it needs a few minutes of planning so we can be on the right side of the water when you step off. Tell your planner early if you want it, because the boat, the timing and the guest walk to the ceremony all depend on it.
For a sense of how a celebration at this villa looks in our work, see Laura and Eric's wedding at Villa Pizzo. We photograph a limited number of weddings each year, and our weddings start from 7,000 EUR, net with VAT added on top. If Villa Pizzo is on your list, send us your date and guest count and check your date with us; we are glad to share how we would plan the day around the gardens, the dock and the evening.
Frequently Asked Questions About Villa Pizzo Wedding Cost
How much does it cost to rent Villa Pizzo for a wedding?
The villa publishes no fee, and quotes are given for each date and guest count. As a typical range, WeddingItaly's 2026 guide puts event only villa hire at Lake Como between 15,000 and 60,000 EUR, and Villa Pizzo, with no rooms on site, belongs in that event only category. Ask for a written quote with VAT shown separately.
Is catering included in the Villa Pizzo hire fee?
No. The villa works with outside Italian caterers, usually compared and booked through your planner. Typical planner figures are 150 to 300 EUR or more per guest for dinner, plus about 50 to 100 EUR per guest for drinks, before VAT.
How many guests can Villa Pizzo host for dinner?
Exclusive Italy Weddings gives up to 150 guests for a banquet with a marquee in the court and 120 guests indoors across four halls, with the Muggiasca hall seating about 60. Some planner listings give 200 guests, so confirm larger numbers directly.
Can guests stay overnight at Villa Pizzo?
No. The villa has no accommodation for wedding guests, so guests stay in hotels in Cernobbio and around Como, the closest within about ten minutes by car. Plan evening transfers into your budget.
When is the Villa Pizzo wedding season?
Planners give April to October, because the villa has no heating indoors. In April and October a marquee and a warm layer for guests are sensible additions.
How late can the party go at Villa Pizzo?
Outdoor music is allowed until 11 pm, according to Exclusive Italy Weddings and Wezoree, and the party can continue indoors by agreement. Ask your caterer and music team for their overtime rates before you set the end time.
