What Marrying at Villa Sola Cabiati Costs Before a Single Flower
The Villa Sola Cabiati wedding cost starts with a stay, not a venue fee: the villa is rented only as a whole house through Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and any event must be ancillary to a stay of at least three nights. On the current Haute Retreats listing, that means a nightly rate from 11,300 USD, so at least 33,900 USD for the three nights, plus a separate event venue fee of 10,000 EUR plus 10% VAT for up to 50 guests.
Those two lines come before food, drink, flowers, music, guest rooms or transfers. The villa sits on the Tremezzina shore of Lake Como, managed by Grand Hotel Tremezzo, which describes it as less than a mile down the road from the hotel and with its own jetty on the lake. It has six suites and sleeps 12 guests, so it works as the house for the two of you and your closest family, with everyone else staying elsewhere.
Konstantyn Zakhariy and Mariya Gritsak photograph weddings and engagement sessions on this shore of the lake, and this guide reads Villa Sola Cabiati the way a couple has to budget it: line by line, with every figure labelled by its source and its date. Below you will find the buyout, the event fee and who caters, the house rules that remove cheaper options, and what rooms, transfers and coverage add across a three night weekend.
This page is about cost and booking structure only. For the rooms, the gardens and how the villa photographs through the day, see our Villa Sola Cabiati photography guide.
The Multi Night Buyout, the Event Fee and Who Caters
Start with the nightly buyout, because it is the line everything else sits on. The Haute Retreats listing for the villa, read in October 2026, quotes a rate from 11,300 USD per night. Three nights is the minimum for any event, so the buyout alone is at least 33,900 USD before anything else, and more if your dates fall where the rate is higher or you add nights for setup or a farewell brunch.
Older published figures show how far the rate has moved, and they should be read as history, not as a quote. Robb Report wrote in July 2017 that the villa was priced from about 10,000 USD per night and could only be rented in its entirety. Lute wrote in March 2021 that exclusive use started at 7,700 EUR per night, with a minimum of three nights, booked only through Grand Hotel Tremezzo. If a planner or a forum quotes you one of those numbers, ask for the current rate for your exact nights.
The buyout covers a lot of what a hotel wedding would charge for separately. The listing includes exclusive use of the villa and its grounds, daily breakfast, a 24 hour butler, daily housekeeping with turndown, a private chef, a heated outdoor pool and a private dock, plus access to the Grand Hotel Tremezzo spa facilities, private beach and pools. Groceries, laundry, spa treatments and transfers are extra.
The event is a second contract. Haute Retreats states that each event needs a separate contract between Grand Hotel Tremezzo and the villa guests, and that a fixed venue fee applies on top of all event costs: 10,000 EUR plus 10% VAT for up to 50 guests, which is 11,000 EUR with VAT. The listing gives no figure for 51 to 70 guests, and it does not say whether the fee will stay the same for 2027, so confirm both with Grand Hotel Tremezzo before you build the budget.
Then comes catering, and here there is no choice to make. All food and beverage must be provided by the Grand Hotel Tremezzo team, and outside catering is not permitted. That makes the hotel's menu and beverage quote the largest variable in the budget, so ask for it per person, with the aperitif, dinner, wine and late drinks priced separately, as early as the date itself. House Rules That Shape the Budget: Music, Marquees and the 70 Guest Ceiling
The house rules matter as much as the fees, because they close the usual routes to saving money or growing the party. The listing sets three that shape every Villa Sola Cabiati budget.
The first is music. Only background music is allowed in the villa and its grounds, day and night. That rules out a dance band or a DJ set at the villa itself, so a string trio or a pianist during the aperitif and dinner is the realistic plan. If dancing matters to you, budget for a second venue for the party, and with it a second setup and a boat or car transfer.
The second is structures. Tensile structures and canopies are not allowed, and the indoor halls serve as the backup for outdoor events. That removes the marquee line many lake weddings carry, which is a saving, but it also means your guest count has to fit inside in bad weather. Ask the villa manager how many people the indoor halls seat for dinner before you settle on the guest list.
The third is the ceiling. The maximum for events is 70 people, and that number includes the resident guests staying in the villa. If 12 people sleep in the suites, they count toward the 70. The listing also applies its special events policy to any gathering with more than five outside guests or any special setup, which must be agreed in advance with the villa manager.
Put together, a simple worked example looks like this. Three nights from 11,300 USD come to at least 33,900 USD, and the event fee for up to 50 guests adds 11,000 EUR with VAT. Catering, flowers, music, the celebrant, hair and makeup, guest rooms and photography all sit on top, so treat at least 33,900 USD plus 11,000 EUR as the fixed floor of the plan, before any variable is priced. That floor is our arithmetic from the listing, not a quote.
Ask early about the legal side too. A civil ceremony in Italy is performed by the comune, and the listing does not say whether the villa is an authorised place for one. Ask Grand Hotel Tremezzo and the Comune di Tremezzina whether a civil ceremony can take place on site, or plan a symbolic ceremony at the villa with the legal step at the town hall or at home. Our guide to planning a wedding for 20 to 50 guests covers both routes for a smaller party.
Rooms, Transfers and Coverage: The Rest of a Three Night Budget
The villa sleeps up to 12 adults plus 2 children up to 12 years old, according to the listing, with extra beds possible only in some suites, so ask the villa manager. With six suites, the natural plan is the two of you, both sets of parents and a few of the closest family or friends in the house, and every other guest in a hotel nearby.
Grand Hotel Tremezzo is the obvious base for guests, since it manages the villa and caters the event, and the villa reaches it by road or by boat from its private dock. Price guest rooms as a block for three or four nights early, because they are a real line in the budget even though you are not paying for them yourselves. For the hotel itself as a wedding setting, see weddings at Grand Hotel Tremezzo, and for the village and its other options, the Tremezzo wedding guide.
Transfers are the line couples underestimate. The listing names transfers as an extra, and on a three night weekend they repeat: guests arriving from the airport, a welcome evening, the wedding day itself, perhaps a second venue for dancing, and departures. Ask the hotel and your planner to price them as one schedule rather than trip by trip.
Coverage follows the same three night shape. Most couples who take a whole house want more than the wedding day photographed: the welcome evening, the morning in the suites and a quiet portrait hour on the water. Konstantyn and Mariya photograph a limited number of weddings each year, always as a team of two on film and digital, with weddings from 7,000 EUR. A multi day weekend is quoted on its own timeline, so tell us which evenings you want covered and we will price exactly that.
We know this stretch of shore well, including Jina and JinHo's engagement session at Grand Hotel Tremezzo, just along the road. If Villa Sola Cabiati is on your shortlist, check your date with us and tell us your nights and your guest count.
Frequently Asked Questions About Villa Sola Cabiati Wedding Costs
How much does Villa Sola Cabiati cost per night?
The Haute Retreats listing, read in October 2026, quotes a rate from 11,300 USD per night for the whole villa. Older figures were lower: about 10,000 USD per night in Robb Report in 2017 and from 7,700 EUR in Lute in 2021, so treat those as dated and ask Grand Hotel Tremezzo for your exact nights.
Is there a minimum stay for an event at Villa Sola Cabiati?
Yes. The listing states that any event or function can only be ancillary to a stay of at least three nights. At the current listed rate, that is at least 33,900 USD in accommodation before the event fee of 10,000 EUR plus 10% VAT for up to 50 guests.
How many guests can attend a wedding at Villa Sola Cabiati?
The maximum for events is 70 people, and that includes the guests staying in the villa. The published venue fee covers up to 50 guests, so if your list runs from 51 to 70, confirm the fee for that number with Grand Hotel Tremezzo.
Can we bring our own caterer or band to Villa Sola Cabiati?
No outside caterer is allowed: all food and beverage comes from the Grand Hotel Tremezzo team. Only background music is permitted in the villa and grounds, day and night, so a dance band belongs at a second venue if you want one.
Where do guests stay if the villa only sleeps a small group?
The villa sleeps up to 12 adults plus 2 children, so most guests stay in hotels nearby, with Grand Hotel Tremezzo the natural choice since it manages the villa. Budget their transfers to and from the villa for every evening of the weekend.
Can we put up a marquee if it rains?
No. Tensile structures and canopies are not allowed, and the villa's indoor halls are the backup for outdoor events. Ask how many guests the halls seat before you fix the guest list.
